Jack and Rafa described their dream game into a phone, and this is what came out. A voice says a word and you jump to the block that has that word written on it. Keep jumping and a trainer shows up for a battle.
How You Play
- Listen for the word, then jump to the block with that word on it.
- Every 10 jumps a trainer battles you. Read words to attack.
- Beat a trainer and they may drop their monster. Catch it by finding its name.
- Each of the five worlds ends with a boss, and the last boss is Char Thief.
What Kids Practice
- Recognizing written words from their sound, using words from the phonics lessons in Munch, our learn-to-read game.
- Reading new names, because every monster has to be found by its name.
- Quick adding at the monster hospital, where solving sums heals your monster.
Made by Jack and Rafa
The 12 named monsters are the kids’ own creations, and 72 more were generated in their style, for 84 cards in all. The game was vibe-coded with Claude: the kids’ ideas went in as plain words, and the code came back.
